Nature Doesn't Need a Seat at the Table

Nature doesn't need an army of lawyers.
Nature is the law.

Nature doesn't ask for protection.
Nature demands respect.

Nature doesn't need a seat at the table.
Nature is the table.
-Irene Tobis and Michael Tobis
(See "Nature is not a budget item" for a more prosaic version of this argument.)

Nature isn't 'out there'
Nature is here and now

Nature isn't what we are not
Nature is what are a a part of

Nature is not our enemy
Nature is our mother

Nature deals
Nature can disarm a town the size of Abilene

Nature is the queen of diamonds
Nature never draws to an inside straight

Nature may loose a hand but
Nature’s got no chance of loosing given enough time

Nature is red in tooth and claw
Entropy grows 'cause that's its law

Nature cares not for your alarm
Or polar bears that you might harm

Rational beings demand respect
All other ethics will leave you wretch'd
