herePer BCL's request, here are 1998, 1999, 2009 and 2010, (colored respectively RGBO) near surface temps, so you can distinguish particular years of interest. I am not sure what caveats are needed. This is not considered a primary GMST dataset, but I don't know why. Any help on this one would be appreciated. I've been looking at this graph evolve for months; it seems to be telling a scarier story than GISS or Hadley does.

ReplyDeleteA lot of people (I think I've seen comments about this at RC, Tamino's, and Romm's) think the daily UAH plot has a flaw in the processing. It's hot, but not that hot. Maybe the RSS folks will figure it out for us.
IIRC Spencer has explained on his blog why the UAH graph needs corrections, although the usual caveat lector applies to everything he says.
ReplyDeleteBut I notice that there's what looks to be a rather larger-scale debate about the sat data going on, initiated by some new players. I'm really curious to know what RSS thinks about this.
