  1. Today, a majority of Americans, or at least the majority voting for house seats decided that climate change didn't matter at all.

    Of course, most of them didn't know that was what they were voting for but the results will be exactly the same.

    Next batter: Ma Nature, with a pumpkin-sized softball floating over the plate.

  6. It's tough to grasp vast threat. What can be more alarming than buggering our atmosphere? Oh I know, oceans of vinegar, rivers of goo, sterile soils, monster weeds, wee plague here and there, ultra population, cyber-pirate bankers, and outright opportunists.... In this mix of challenge and worry, I think politics will be out of hand for a very long time. There's no chance whatsoever a handful of scientists will calm what's ahead except by being or becoming the best scientists ever.
