Today, a majority of Americans, or at least the majority voting for house seats decided that climate change didn't matter at all.
Of course, most of them didn't know that was what they were voting for but the results will be exactly the same.
Next batter: Ma Nature, with a pumpkin-sized softball floating over the plate.

California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 established the first-in-the-world comprehensive program of regulatory and market mechanisms to achieve real, quantifiable, cost-effective reductions of GHG.
Approaching midnight: "the campaign's other hot-button issue, also appeared to be failing with a 55 percent no vote. Proposition 23 sought to postpone the 2006 Global Warming Solutions Act ...."
So does this mean that climate scientists should lawyer up?
Nature isn't just the final authority, Nature is the Only authority.

It's tough to grasp vast threat. What can be more alarming than buggering our atmosphere? Oh I know, oceans of vinegar, rivers of goo, sterile soils, monster weeds, wee plague here and there, ultra population, cyber-pirate bankers, and outright opportunists.... In this mix of challenge and worry, I think politics will be out of hand for a very long time. There's no chance whatsoever a handful of scientists will calm what's ahead except by being or becoming the best scientists ever.
